Dávid Koronczi

Slovakia

Dávid Koronczi is a Slovak graphic designer, visual artist, and academic whose interdisciplinary practice bridges food culture, philosophy, and performance. He is the initiator of BRUCHOVRAVY (Guttalks), a series of performative dinners that blend culinary experience with speculative discourse and poetic theatre. These gatherings transform communal dining into a platform for reflection on ecological, social, and cultural themes. Koronczi’s work often explores the intersections of cultivation, cooking, and eating with artistic strategies, aiming to create spaces where food becomes a medium for storytelling and critical engagement.

In 2022, Koronczi participated in the Slovakia training week of the Erasmus+ project Working in LANDscapes, presenting a performative philosophical dinner that engaged participants in dialogue about the relationships between humans, food, and the environment. This experience was part of his ongoing exploration of how collective meals can serve as sites for artistic and philosophical inquiry.

Currently, Koronczi is developing Guardians of the Savory, a project commissioned by the Oerol Festival as part of the Transitioning LANDscapes Creative Europe project. Presented during Oerol Festival 2025, the work was developed in cooperation with Erik Pánči and Celestína Minichová. Featuring a labyrinth constructed from plastic crates, Guardians of the Savory invites audiences to reflect on themes of global trade, environmental impact, hospitality, and the interconnectedness of ecosystems.
